[It's still daylight out when Katara makes this post to the PGC. "Mom's" front door behind her as she heads away from the building. She addresses the gear much more politely.]

Hi, my name is Katara. If you know or remember me and you're here in New Bark Town, meet me by the town's exit. I know I'm not the only one that just showed up here, and I've already met one person from home.

The offer goes for anyone that's new here that might want some help figuring things out, too, even if we haven't met yet.

Well, a little, but a friend of mine is sending some help along. I wasn't really home long enough to feel like I was really gone. It's pretty strange.

Exhausting curve balls. One of my friends got himself caught up with one of Team Rocket's more obnoxious members, and I've had to clean up his mess.

[He flicks his wrist and shrugs, though. Really, this isn't about his crazy life.]

And it's definitely strange, but what isn't in this place? Time inconsistencies just come with the territory.

...Anyway, at least it'll be easier to readjust than if you'd been gone for months back home.

The police are laughably incompetent. Always have been. They try, but it's usually trainers like us who have to clean up their messes.

[And that Kanto remark gets a laugh outta him.]

Well, you could hop the ferry if you need a quick trip. Otherwise, you'll have to save up about P20,000 for a train pass.
