I know it's kind of a silly question, but I'm curious. Would you still celebrate a birthday if you arrived here just a little before it? For fun, or for real?

Everyone needs a break from training now and then, and Katara is putting this theory to good practice right now.

A Meowth on a surfboard.

Well that's... different...? Or, heck, maybe not, knowing this place. Yeah, probably not. Still, different or not there is definitely a Meowth on a surfboard. She's not alone, though, as her new trainer- Katara -is standing behind her more towards the middle-back end of the board as they ride the waves, cheering and laughing.

The other Pokemon currently in her party are relaxing on the back of her Lapras, who happens to be the one providing the waves using-- well --"Surf". There's Carla and Arnook, at least. Jet and Hikaru (her new Leafeon) are both resting on the shore guarding her possessions and keeping an eye on her eggs.]

I never would have guessed Meowths would be such big fans of water. Careful you don't go over the edge, Nikta.

[The Meowth doesn't seem to be listening, she's intent on getting as close to the front of the board as she possibly can. Feel free to join or approach once they reach the shore.]

That's a pretty good reason to celebrate. Do you think I should maybe wait until I have more friends around to share it with?

Yeah, I had something very similar happen before, but this time it's more enjoyable. The time here is different, there's about a year difference here from where I was originally. But happy birthday anyways.

I've gotten a lot more since then, but - well, without them, I might not have. Did you get anything for your birthday, or should we plan a late celebration around that prom?

Mine's all the way in July, but given how time is all wonky from my arrival I should already be 18. But it's just a day, the party is celebrating you, it doesn't need to be held to just one day.

I'll admit that I didn't do so the last time it was my birthday here, but given that was the date I arrived... well, even though this place had the nerve to remind me of it, I had much more important things to worry about.

Oh. Well that makes things a lot more complicated. How do you guys do it?

So you just make sure they're partying twice as hard.

They might be in my world, but I had not had one there yet so I am not sure. But being a year older does sound very important.

Really? Then you should pick a date for yourself! Everyone deserves to celebrate their birthday, even if they're not really sure when it is.

The jury is still out on that, honestly. It's either I'm still sixteen or I turned seventeen. I missed about six months in between my last stay and my birthday.
